Make a European CV for free

Outstand against other candidates

Outstand against other candidates

This post will show you how to make the perfect CV(for FREE!) tested in the european market with the highest chance of the CV being read.
There are only three things you need to know. First of all:

MAKE A MACHINE READABLE CV!

This means that it is readable by Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
Generally, HR has a lot of work to do reading the applicant’s CV and of course they might not be reading this one by one. Specially in top companies.

They might be helped by some of these tools. And that is why your CV even though is very strong with plenty of skills, the content is not readable and they lose the opportunity of seeing your awesomeness.

From my experience, the fastest way to build a CV that worked really good if you just started to build your career is by using Overleaf.

  1. Go to Overleaf and download one of the free templates(link below).
    https://www.overleaf.com/gallery/tagged/cv

They are simple, clean and the most important - READABLE!. Plus you can customize it whenever you want and download the pdf version for FREE!
Remember that unless you are a graphic designer or an illustrator, a mediocre readable CV beats a super beautiful but non-readable one.

The one that I am using(skipping some sections) and that always worked very well:

  1. Stick with the 1-page CV. We all have a lot of information to share but that is something you can save for the HR interview, so just highlight the best of the best and treat the CV as your presentation leaflet card.

  2. Once finished, make sure that the CV you built go through any of the ATS Resume Scanner available in order to check if your desired CV will be correctly processed by HR.

These three steps will save you a lot of time, since you will be trying to polish your skills in the CV but you would miss that what actually fails in your CV is the readability of your CV when processed by these machines.

So now you know. Time to build one.
Good luck with your career!
